Altered States is a series of trailers created to promote Oliver Sacks’ online article for the New Yorker magazine. It references the ways in which films are generally marketed and investigates how they can be repurposed and adapted to promote a text-based publication instead of a moving image-based one. It explores alternative forms of advertising that borrows techniques and methods characteristic of movie trailers to create posters, videos, and website as touchpoints. This project was developed for the BFACD 2016 Thesis.
